Project Brief
A Grade II listed building transformed into a 60 Bedroom Hotel in the remote market town of Helmsley. We were appointed as Project Managers, Cost Consultants and Employer’s Agents to lead the refurbishment of The Black Swan. The building has dedicated parts for each Georgian Victoria and Edwardian centric rooms. The has benefited from a sensitive refurbishment working with the North York Moors National Park Authority and the Conservation officers.What We Did
Consult North led and successfully delivered the expensive and complex refurbishment of 60 bedrooms and various lounges from inception, through to construction and completion. The project required strategic phasing along with a highly collaborative approach working within a live building and to strict programme requirements.
Consult North are well rehearsed in dealing with dilapidated historic buildings, from cost planning to providing accurate costing advice to ensuring a comprehensive tender pack is put together for the purposes of Contractors pricing the works. This all helps to protect our clients’ financial interests and ensure the costs are suitably managed.
