A TLF survey of UK residents finds that Newcastle named the 5th MOST LIKELY city to encounter a cowboy builder

Updating the interior of your home can be exciting but stressful time. You can picture your dream kitchen or bedroom, but often you’re putting your trust in a stranger – and to top it off, you’re spending a significant amount of money.

Whilst the majority of builders are highly skilled in their role, and are very honest and upfront, unfortunately there are a few that aren’t – and there could be a real worry when re-decorating your home that you might accidentally hire a cowboy builder.

A study finds 56% of British homeowners fall victim to cowboy builders and Newcastle ranked 5th, let that sink in for a moment.

Home improvements were at a record high during the pandemic, in fact 77% of the UK population invested in their property in one way or another – a way for many to keep busy and improve the spaces that they were confined to.

Restrictions have eased giving us a glimpse of normal life, however, research shows UK homeowners are still renovating their safe havens.
